Deep fried foods, presents, kisses, and even more food….sounds like a good month at the Hawthorne house! Meet Sarah Hawthorne the author of some seriously sexy motorcycle men and the women who love them. Be sure to stick around and see what she’s giving away to EVERYONE!

I love the Holidays. Christmas has lots of presents and Hanukkah has lots of tasty deep fried food. I celebrate both, so I get the best of both worlds. But my favorite holiday overall is New Year’s Eve.  Finger foods, champagne, friends, kissing, funny hats, what’s not to love?

As a young adult, I helped decorate two Rose Parade Floats. Now living in Portland, Oregon, I’m the crazy person who gets up early to watch the parade on television. You can take the girl out of California…and all that jazz. Anyway, decorating a float starts around September when you prep the dried flowers and seeds. Everything comes together the days before New Year’s Eve. I’ve always been on leaf duty and there was lots of rubber cement and sticky eucalyptus leaves in our hair, clothes, on our shoes. Everywhere. By the time the BIG NIGHT rolls around, we were crammed into a tent with two other gigantic floats and everyone gluing EVERYTHING. I cannot explain the amounts of glue and rubber cement used. Toward the end of the night we had to walk outside to get fresh air if we were feeling lightheaded. It was a big gigantic glue fueled party.

Fast forward to now. I’m an adult with responsibilities and all that good stuff. So no more decorating floats or partying into the wee hours. I do host what we call a “Go to bed early New Year’s Eve Party.” Yep. I kick everyone out at 10pm and go to bed. But we have plenty of drinks before 10pm.  I’m sharing with you my favorite New Year’s Eve drink. It’s not NYE unless I’m shooing my husband away from the punchbowl before the guests arrive.

Strawberry Ice Cream Punch

1 2 liter bottle of cream soda

1 gallon of strawberry ice cream

Soften the ice cream as much as you have time for and then pour the cream soda over the ice cream. It will get a little “scummy” looking as the ice cream melts and the soda fizzes. Just mix it together.

So…wait…there’s only two ingredients and no alcohol?? Right. This is kid friendly. BUT…you can always ADD stuff. I suggest: Kahlua, Rum, Cointreau, and Vodka. Just dump in a few shots and make sure the kid doesn’t drink out of your glass. Voila. Done.

Demon Horde Motorcycle Club Series

This New Year, I have a book coming out (okay it’s coming out on February 5, but that’s still solidly in during the “I’m Still Trying to Keep My New Year’s Resolution Timeframe so it counts).  Outlaw Ride, the third book in my Demon Horde Motorcycle Club Series, is hitting all major digital retailers and I’m super excited. I love motorcycle clubs stories…the grit, the smexy scenes, and…the violence? Okay, I’m not a huge fan of violence, so in my books, I take a more realistic look at biker life. Most bikers – even 1%ers (that’s the super baddest asses of them all –  don’t go around killing everyone all the time. So, in my biker world you’ll find leather, motorcycles, hot guys, not always following the law, and some seriously HOT love scenes. But, at the heart, I write romance. So, give them a try.

I’m giving away a copy of Rebel Custody, the second book in my series. It’s a story about a man who discovers he has a nine-year-old son. He and his custody lawyer, Miri, fall in love and form a family. There’s fears and expectations that everyone needs to work through and, of course, some motorcycle club danger. It’s a great love story about the power of family.

Outlaw Ride, which comes out in February, is about a woman who is on the cusp of achieving her dreams and learning how to love at the same time. Jo is a home health care worker who is caring for a woman named Anne Remmick (Nana). Nana lives with her grandson, Clint, who is a biker. Jo and Clint have a hard time denying their attraction, especially when their bedrooms share a wall.

A recovering gambler

Hard-living biker Clint Remmick is fiercely loyal to the boys of the Demon Horde motorcycle club. He’s worked hard to redeem himself, and there’s no risk he won’t take to help his brothers, even when rivals threaten their safety. When his grandmother’s health takes a turn for the worse, though, he moves out of the clubhouse to take care of her. With his duties for the MC, he knows he can’t do it alone, so he hires Jo, a live-in nurse.

He didn’t expect her to heal him, as well.

A dedicated nurse

Jo Smith enjoys working for sweet old Anne Remmick, and she’s especially intrigued by her tattooed bad-boy grandson. Clint’s tough exterior scares her a little, but she feels a pull toward the sexy biker. Soon she’s dying to close the distance between them.

A losing bet

When Clint and his brothers have to pull a dangerous job in Reno, Jo is the perfect cover. With enemies around every corner, Clint needs to focus on keeping her safe—not the lust simmering between them. But when Clint is trapped by a rival club, Jo will have to save him…and their relationship.
